Becca Strickland, MHC-LP
About Becca
Becca Strickland, MHC-LP, works with people who are often carrying more than others can see. Many are thoughtful, capable, and used to functioning while privately struggling with anxiety, burnout, self-doubt, emotional intensity, relationship stress, family conflict, fertility-related strain, or a sense that something in their life no longer fits.
How I think about therapy
I believe therapy works best when it feels human. That includes being thoughtful about your history, your current stressors, the stories you have learned to tell about yourself, and the emotional patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
I draw from Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered techniques, CBT, DBT-informed skills, and poetry-informed or story-oriented reflection when helpful. Some sessions may focus on naming patterns and understanding emotional meaning. Others may be more practical, helping you build tools for regulation, boundaries, or self-trust. The work shifts based on what is needed, rather than forcing you into one rigid model.
The people I tend to work especially well with
- anxious, highly self-aware, and chronically overthinking
- burned out, emotionally exhausted, or discouraged by work stress
- struggling with confidence, self-worth, or harsh inner criticism
- trying to understand emotional regulation difficulties and recurring interpersonal patterns
- carrying family conflict or relational stress
- moving through fertility-related emotional strain
- seeking LGBTQIA+ affirming support
- in the middle of major life transitions or identity shifts
My approaches
My work is grounded in relationship, curiosity, and emotional honesty. These are tools in service of deeper understanding, not a script you have to fit yourself into.
My connection to Peace Love Wellness
Becca practices as part of Peace Love Wellness, a broader therapy practice grounded in relational, trauma-informed, and affirming care. She practices under clinical supervision within the practice, which allows clients to work with Becca while also benefiting from the trust and structure of a larger therapeutic setting when another fit or service may be needed.
